The picture below describes her perfectly. She is full of more sass, whit, and personality than any child I've met. But she can be as sweet and tender as ever. This girl's gonna conquer at whatever she sets her mind to. It's amazing how much I learn working with kids. I feel like I get back more than I can give, because they teach me love, service, patience, selflesness, and determination. I feel like I get to spend my time in the best of company, I love them! I can't imagine the love that I'll have for my own kids someday. They are treasures.
Besides the days full of jumping on the tramp, playing dolls, going on walks, and reading stories, one of my favorite parts of the day is leaving a meal for their family to come home to. I've been able to explore so many new recipes this summer. I love cooking. It's kind of an obsession and I'd do it all day if I could. (Savory Spiral Stuffed Rolls from Mels Kitchen Cafe... so good!)
So that's what my summer days have consisted of. I've really enjoyed it, and I've truly been learning alot about myself and my future goals and ambitions for my own home and family. It's been a simple summer, but it's been nice, and there's been lots of time for reflection, study, and pondering. I'm trying so hard to figure out what path I'm supposed to take after graduation. It's quite a process.. figuring out life and it's unexpected turns. Good thing we aren't alone in figuring out the mysteries on our own :)
P.S. Tonight I made these cupcakes for Kaylie to take to her 1st grade class tomorrow. I thought they turned out pretty cute :)
