The Latest and Greatest

I'm going to pretend that you're all just anxious to hear about my new semester :) I say new because I haven't blogged anything about it, but really we are almost at midterms! I'll say it again... time flies. Too fast! I love my apartment and roommates; they are all new this semester except for Wuendy is still here with me. I'm so grateful too because she is the best roommate a girl could ask for. I haven't really taken any pictures except for this past weekend- Our apartment complex has door decorating contests for the holidays, so we decided to join in the fun for Valentines day. Wuendy and I spent an entire evening working on the door decorations... can you tell from our strained smiles that we are exhausted? haha

But the work was worth it, and we are rather pleased with the outcome. It's totally random, but we wanted it to be different, and we had a blast going through magazines and cutting out pictures. The inspiration came from the song... it happens to be one of our favorites right now :)

Cross your fingers that we win a cool prize!

On top of my 17 credits and part-time job, I am doing my practicum this semester. Don't ask me why I schedule myself this way... I dont even know, but I thrive on being productive and accomplishing tasks. Anyway, it's been an adventure! I spend two nights a week at a local elementary school and help run the afterschool program. It's been a good learning experience, and I'm learning to love the children even when they are rowdy and mean. haha I've never worked with older elementary kids and it's new for me. It requires a lot of time and planning which has been overwhelming, but it has also been rewarding and I'm learning a lot- about teaching and also about myself. For someone that doesn't want a career in teaching- I've done my fair share of lesson plans, between practicum and gospel docterine. haha It's good for me :) And I'm really grateful for the opportunities that I'm given to learn and grow, I feel very blessed.
