I love my husband, he seriously is the greatest. He makes the bed in the morning. He is such a good cook. He does ALL the dishes... like literally. I have extremely sensitive skin that hurts when I put it in hot water, so he won't let me touch the dishes. Yep, he is a keeper for so many reasons.
I realized today that it must be almost as weird for him as it is for me to experience pregnancy and see my belly continually grow bigger and bigger. I was thinking about this and was reflecting on the comments that he makes on a daily basis. I have to record some of my favorites because he really cracks me up.
The Good
Most of the time he is extremely generous in his compliments and makes me feel like a million bucks. For example:
- The other day I was getting ready to leave for Zumba. As I said goodbye, he looked at me and said, "Gosh you look good. You look like a Cowboys cheerleader or something." haha Yep that's definitely what I felt like in my too small stretchy pants and overly tight tshirt that barely covered my belly. haha I told you he was generous.
- I had just gotten ready for the day and sat down on the edge of my bed. He walked in the room and said "You're so beautiful. I'm not kidding, you should be a maternity model." OHH isn't it great how blind love is?
- This one I get to hear quite often. He will look at my big belly then smile and say "You just get more beautiful every day."
The Bad
Sometimes I think his blinders come off and he sees how pregnant I really am. Then I get comments like this:
- "WOW you are really pregnant aren't you! I mean, you are REALLY pregnant." Yes honey, I'm aware.
- Looking at my stomach, "That thing has really grown hasn't it! I mean, even in the past month it's just gotten so much bigger!" Yes again, thank you, I've noticed :)
The Ugly
Then there are those times when he blurts something out without thinking first...I really don't get offended. I just laugh.
- Talking to his dad on the phone, "Oh how's Melanee? She is good. She is really porkin' up!" Did he just tell his dad I was "porkin" up? haha Great.
- The other evening after getting up off the couch my shirt had ridden up a little. I stood up and he said, "You kind of look like a truck driver. You know those really fat guys whose shirts don't cover their stomach." Oh ya those ones, thanks dear. haha
Oh I love em'. I could never do this on my own. He is so patient and caring. I'm grateful for the good laughs that we can have along the way :)
