I searched high and low for a job when I moved out here for the summer, and I did find one at a day-care. Right up my ally! Unfortunately, it didn't last long. I left the day care for many reasons that don't need to be expounded on. It just wasn't the environment that I wanted to be in everyday. So I changed my environment... drastically. haha For the past few months I've been working with my father-in-law on different projects. He is retired, but hires out to help with building repair, landscape, farm work, etc. He is a jack of all trades I tell you. We have repaired a roof, built fences, laid cement, painted barns, chopped trees, etc.
I've really never worked with my hands like this before. They are rough and callused, and I am so achy when I get home because we do some heavy lifting. But I'll tell you what, there is something very satisfying about it! I have learned so much from Dennis, I feel like a little apprentice. No I don't want to be a farm hand the rest of my life, but I wouldn't trade the experiences I'm having this summer for anything. I've learned and grown so much, and I can say my knowledge and skills have expanded beyond changing diapers :)
