Last weekend Matt convinced me into embarking on an overnight canoe trip with him. I must have been half asleep still when I agreed to it, because how out of my element can I get? I never would have agreed to do it if I was coherent :) Okay maybe I did, because somehow this wilderness man has been able to pull a little wilderness out of this girl... and I'm actually enjoying it. He has a way of making everything I used to be afraid of so... not scary. So we did it. We canoed the Wisconsin river Friday evening, pulled over to a sand bar, set up tent, and the next morning finished a 7 hour stretch of paddling. And yes I'll admit it- I had a good time :)
The scenery was really beautiful!
There are sandbars that line the river, so it was like camping on the beach
Naturally my tent was empty when I woke up, and I stepped out to find Matt fishing first thing
So I joined him. Oh that ugly next-morning-after-camping picture haha enjoy :)
Matt caught a cat fish. And why not gut it, poke a stick through it, and eat it for breakfast? This is where I draw the line- NO I will not eat the catfish for breakfast! haha But Matt did, and loved it.
