Sooooo Close...

to being finished with the semester! All this time you've been enjoying your summer break, I've been slaving away in the classroom ;) It's okay, I love learning, but I'm SO excited for a break. These past few weeks have been hectic as we get ready to close out another semester, but I thought I'd take a second and share 2 things with you that I've realized about myself.

1. I am the biggest list maker I've ever met. I write at least 4-5 a day. I would be LOST without a paper and pen. I don't know how people DON'T write everything down. There is WAY too many things racing around in my mind, and if they didn't come out on paper I think my head would pop. The other night I glanced down on my floor at this and chuckled, what a spaz I am.

2. The other realization I had is that I'm totally obsessed with children's books. I ordered a bunch of them a few weeks ago, and in the order I got a pack of Junie B. Jones books- does anyone remember reading those? I sat down and literally laughed out loud reading. LOVE. For one of my final projects I've been working on a list of examples of books within each stage of emergent reading. Tonight I was finishing off my list with the final stage which includes beginning chapter books. As I was brainstorming I started to remember all the books that I read as a child and I got really excited about them. I had a big grin and was kind of bouncing in my chair as I typed... Brandon looked over and said, "wow Mel, calm down." But how could I? Children's books bring back some of the best memories and I cannot WAIT to have children to read to. Then I won't have to read them all by myself :) But until then I'll keep reading, cuz they are so great.

Anyway there's a peek into my random brain during finals week. It'll get better once this week is over!
