"Lost but holding hands"

My husband completely cracks me up. At first Matt comes off as kinda quiet, or like he keeps to himself, but once he warms up, he is totally the opposite. I just smile when I think about just last night. I could not stop laughing. My cheeks and my stomach hurt and I was starting to tear-up because I couldn't stop. He is extremely whitty and so much fun to be around.

That's not really what this post is about. That was just my random blurb of how fun he makes my life. What I really wanted to write about it our date last night. It was ridiculous haha

We planned all day to go to a good friend's wedding reception. We planned to leave at 5:30, but didn't get out the door until 6. Then we realized that we had to run by my mom's house and get her Sam's card for a quick errand. So we ran out the door, swung by the house, and on our way outta town realized we forgot the wedding gift. So we drove back home and got the wedding gift.

As we were about 15 min. down the freeway, we realized we forgot the invitation with the address on it. We had no idea where we were going. So we called a friend and got the address thinking we were fine... until we realized we forgot the GPS. ha oh my! So I have a little gps app on my phone, I plugged in the address and thought we were good to go.

We stopped in a town before the reception to run another quick errand- I thought I could lead us back to the freeway by follwing the little map on my phone... but it didn't lead us to the freeway. It led us to a dirt road and then a dead end. Okay, so we turned around, found the freeway and started driving.

We followed the gps for some time, then realized we had probably gone too far. We called the friend back and asked which exit they took... found out the exit was 6 miles behind us. So we turned around and drove back. We got very clear directions from this friend on when/ where to turn. So we followed them! It didn't lead us the the reception.. we ended up on a long country road. So we turned around and tried to follow street signs... we got lost. We called and got the address again! Same one I plugged into my phone.. turns out that gps really didn't work at all because it was leading us to the wrong city.

Called again, and our friend passed the phone to a local women at the reception. We had no idea who we were talking to, but she gave us clear directions again, and we followed them. Ended up on the same abandoned country road. We decided we better keep driving, maybe we just didn't go far enough. We drove, and drove, and drove. It had been over an hour, the reception was OVER, and we never found a church house. Not a single one in sight. All there was were burning fields, cows, a few houses, and more dirt roads. Who knows where this building was hiding! We gave up, tried to find our way back in town and realized we were out of gas.

We stopped at a gas station, looked at each other all dressed up in our sunday best, and laughed. Until the pump wasn't working.. then we groaned. haha After a few trips into the gas station we finally were able to fill up. We decided it was too early to go home, and since we were dressed up and out on the town, we might as well go to dinner. It was 9 p.m. haha We didn't even realize how long we had been driving!

We ended our night with a delicious dinner, and when I got home I realized I forgot to take a picture to document it. OH what a night!
