On Friday I signed myself (and Matt) up to volunteer at the elementry school carnival. I thought it'd be fun to be there with all the kiddos that I work with at my internship. We had a good time serving chili and running the basketball shoot-out.
We got up early Saturday morning and drove to Provo for a "Strengthening the Family Symposium." They had a call for student projects months ago, so I entered a research paper I had written supporting marriage between man and woman. Turns out I won first place from my school! I got free registration for the conference, a travel stipend, and 100 cash prize. It was so fun! We got to attend various lectures on family topics, which I love, and then participate in a little awards ceremony. I was so happy to represent my school!
There happened to be a giantic Cabella's store on the way back to Salt Lake, so since Matt sat through a day of lectures with me, we spent some time roaming through what he calls "his Disneyland":) I'll admit, it was a pretty cool place.

On Sunday morning we had the rare opportunity of attending stake conference with Mark and Jamie on Temple Square! It was so cool. It was held in the Assembly Hall, so we toured Temple Square before and after conference and then headed home.

What a fun Halloween you put together! Thanks for the tasty meal :) Maybe next year I will make a festive Halloween dinner....okay, that won't happen, but it was a nice thought, right?
