The Best Way

Being a Child Development major, my education is centered around how to raise fully functioning and well developed children, whether at home or in a classroom. I've studied for two years now "the best" techniques, theories, and practices laid out by scientists and researchers. I often wonder how I will incorporate all this learning into real life experience... and then I reflect on my own parents. Because as crazy or random as we may seem, I believe my parents have raised more than just 6 fully functioning children, but a FAMILY. And I often wonder how they did it. But today my wondering stopped.
I glanced outside my window this afternoon and saw my parents working in the garden. Not an unusual task, but today it held profound meaning to me. I watched them for a while and came to a conclusion.

This is how they did it.

This is what it's all about.

Husband and Wife.
Side by Side.
Hand in Hand.
Laboring TOGETHER to bring forth good fruit.

It's the most tried and true example I've seen. I'm grateful for my college education, but I'm even more grateful for parents who not only teach me, but show
me everyday
"the best"
way.

VERY SWEET. How neat that the Lord blessed you with that tender mercy; to provide you with the answer to your wondering. How true it is.
