A Costly Trip to the Post Office

All I was trying to do today was mail one little letter to my good friend... that's it. One measly trip to the post office was all I had in mind as I set out the door... but before even making it to the post office I ended up with a giant truck crunched into my car. Fabulous

Never having even been pulled over, let alone in a wreck, I started crying at the very sight of the police officers. I had to assure them multiple times that I wasn't hurt... I was only crying because.. well, I have no idea, but really I was fine!

Then they asked me for my "paperwork".... hmmm.. like I said, never had contact with the police so I was literally crawling through my car looking for whatever papers it is they wanted.. I know, I'm retarded, and I felt it immensley! Not to mention that Im still in the middle of the road with people driving by staring...thats a slightly humiliating feeling.

Next they need my drivers license... ya... the one that I NEVER NEVER NEVER drive without!!! Except for today when I'm just making a quick trip to the post office to drop off one measly letter... the one sitting at my house in my wallet that I thought I had grabbed on my way out the door... eerrggg.

By the time I made it to the post office and was finally out of sight, I was still feeling shook up and sorry for myself, therefore I was bawling. I ran in, threw my letter in the mailbox, and ran back out. I can't help but wonder if the postal workers questioned what it was I was mailing off that would cause such emotional trauma.

I just hope my next trip to the post office is a little more pleasant :)

Oh man! no fun! you poor thing. it is so not fun to get in a wreck. Hope it was the truck's fault. Good lesson for me to remember--always take your wallet.

You poor thing! Were you mailing to Conner? If so, I will tell him that he needs to appreciate that letter, since it was quite traumatizing to you to send it. :)
Cute banner on your blog, by the way! Where did you get the cute backdrop for it?
Hope it's an ok day!

What is going on in this town? It seems that I have had a bulls eye painted on the hood of my car... having had several near misses in the past couple weeks.
I'm sorry yours was not a miss. I hope you're not injured and that your car wasn't too heavily damaged. It can be very traumatizing and you were perfectly within your rights to cry.
Go make some sugar cookies!! That is the balm that soothes the troubled soul. :D

Ahh! Sad! Slightly funny but mostly sad. Sorry you had to go through that but now you know what "papers" they're talking about if it ever happens again (that part made me chuckle a bit). Good luck with your future post office runs.

Mel Poo,

I'm glad you're alright! I laugh that it was our very neighbor who was the crasher Ü. Bless his heart! Your blog looks really cute, by the way! Love you!
